TOTOKI BAIGAI 十時梅厓 (1749–1804)

Edo period (1615-1868), late 18th/early 19th century
Landscape
Album leaf with centre fold, mounted as a kakejiku (hanging scroll), ink and slight colours on paper in modern silk and momigami (kneaded paper) mounts by Paul Maruyama/Wills (1989): A lakeside with mountains, pines, rustic dwellings with two figures, and a solitary fisherman; signed Baigai Shi and sealed Toki, Shi; with a modern wood storage box
Overall: 126 × 43.5cm (49 5/8 × 17 1/8in); image: 27 × 30.6cm (10 5/8 × 12in) (2).
