MANNER OF KANŌ NAONOBU 狩野尚信 (1607–1650)

Mount Fuji and Moon
Kakejiku (hanging scroll), ink on silk in silk mounts with lacquered jikusaki (roller ends): Mount Fuji pictured towering above clouds, the full moon to the right; with signature Naonobu hitsu and two seals; with a modern wood storage box
Overall: 130× 68.5cm (51 1/4 × 27in); image: 32 × 62cm (12 1/2 × 24 3/8in) (2).

Footnotes

A creditable exercise in the style of Naonobu, a leading member of the Kano academy, this scroll is unlikely to be an autograph work.
