Footnotes

Provenance
Hiroshi Yanagi, London, 1986

Conventionally listed as a leader of the Fukko Yamato-e movement that sought to revive the earliest native painting, Tanaka Totsugen was a versatile artist who worked in a variety of styles, as can be seen from this light-hearted sketch in the Shijō manner.
