After he moved to Los Angeles in the 1970s, Guy de Cointet struck up a friendship with Jean Milant that led to many successful performances at Cirrus Gallery. Jean Milant was endlessly supportive of the artist's creative and enigmatic endeavors, including The Paintings of Sophie Rummel, arguably the artist's most famous body of work.
