Jean Milant's personal prints are a fascinating chapter of his legacy, highlighting his artistic roots and a recurring cloud motif that later shaped his work as a master printer. During his time studying lithography at Tamarind in Hollywood during the late 60s, he created ethereal prints: softly hued works where weightless, abstract cloud forms float across the sheet, evoking ephemeral moods and personal reflection. Milant cemented his lifelong captivation with clouds by naming his printshop Cirrus — a direct reference to the wispy formations that initially inspired him. His association with the cloud symbol became stamped into printmaking history as each print created at Cirrus was embossed with the iconic Cirrus cloud blindstamp.
