FIVE WOOD NETSUKE

Edo period (1615-1868) or Meiji era (1868-1912), 19th century
Comprising a small dark wood model of Shoki on a Chinese-style table tormenting an oni (demon) cowering beneath, signed Eiko; a small figure of Ryujin the Sea King standing and holding a sacred jewel with both hands, his dragon headdress trailing down the length of his body; signed Hōjitsu; Shoki tormented by an oni climbing on his large straw hat, signed Hidemasa; Shoki with a captured oni at the end of a rope lead, signed Kisen; and a cowering oni curled up in a ball hiding beneath a straw hat, signed Kazuyuki
2in (5.1cm) high, the largest (5).
