Meiji (1868-1912), Taisho (1912-1926), and Showa (1926-1989) era, 19th/20th century
Comprising a large eagle grasping a monkey in its talons; a pair of hares, the eyes inlaid in amber; a stylized camel, illegibly signed; an emaciated wild dog trapping a tortoise with his front paws; a mouse with eyes inlaid in dark horn; a dog reclining in a rice winnow, signed Masatoshi; a group of four frogs on a lotus leaf; a frog on a lotus leaf with a smaller frog concealed on the underside, illegibly signed; and an unusual stylized hare
