SIX TALL FIGURAL NETSUKE

Edo period (1615-1868) or Meiji era (1868-1912), 19th century
Comprising a coral diver, slightly bowed beneath the weight of a large branch of coral on his back, lacquered red, signed Migetsu; a painted wood netsuke in the style of Yoshimura Shūzan of Jitoku and Kanzan looking at a scroll; a monkey trainer, his monkey on his shoulder; a courtier with a kemari ball; Hondaka Sonja laughing as he holds his alms bowl and leans on a wood staff; and Ashinaga and Tenaga working together to play a large drum, signed Gyokkei
4 1/8in (10.4cm) high, the largest (6).
