In China, yellow was an Imperial colour reserved for the Eperor and for official use. The iron-yellow glaze (鐵黃 tiehuang) was particularly difficult to produce, requiring firing at around 1000°C, which was much higher than other overglaze enamels, making it both technically demanding and symbolically prestigious. See a very similar cup, Kangxi six-character mark and of the period, illustrated by R.Scott, Illustrated Catalogue of Ming and Qing Monochrome Wares in the Percival David Foundation of Chinese Art, London, 1989, p.27, no.588. For a similar yellow-glazed double-handled cup, Kangxi six-character mark, but with a band of archaistic chilong, see He Li, Chinese Ceramics: The New Standard Guide, London, 1996, p.277.

A related yellow-glazed incised 'dragon' handled cup, Kangxi mark and of the period, was sold at Sotheby's London, 3 November 2021, lot 6.
