Footnotes

Footnote
Alexander Fisher was an English metalsmith and painter active in the Arts and Crafts movement in London. He became a teacher at the Slade School of Art and wrote a treatise on the art of enamelling upon metal with a short appendix concerning miniature painting before later travelling to France to learn the actual techniques in Limoges. On his return, he set up a studio in London where he took on a number of pupils including Nelson Dawson and Ernestine Mills.
The Victorian and Albert Museum now contains archival material including decorated objects and paintings by Fisher in its permanent collection.
