8vo (229 x 145 mm). Bifolium, title to upper cover, beneath a cross, containing 3 songs from Andersen's funeral. Stringbound into paper-covered board portfolio, endpapers, title label to upper cover.
Provenance: Flemming Erik Pedersen (1931–2020).

RARE SONGBOOK FROM THE FUNERAL OF HANS CHRISTIAN ANDERSEN, including Andersen's poem "Salme" and two others. A copy in the Andersen collection at Odense Bys Museer bears the inscription (in Danish): "From the aisle on the day of the funeral."
WITH: SCHMIDT, CARL. Et Minde om Eventyr og Historirier af H.C. Andersen. Copenhagen: Thomsen & Bojesens, 1875. 12o (150 x 120 mm). Dedication, 3 pp memorial poem by Carl Schmidt, mounted photographic illustration of Andersen and his subjects by Hans Tegner, and an inset portrait medallion of Andersen in biscuit porcelain, by Ludwig Vieth. Publisher's illustrated wrappers. Some chipping and creasing to wrappers, some staining.

Publisher's pictorial red cloth, rear cover ruled and stamped in blind. Spine lightly sunned, some staining, pages lightly toned.
WITH: A GROUP OF 38 10 DANISH KRONER BILLS BEARING HANS CHRISTIAN ANDERSEN'S FACE. Denmark, issued 1936, each 70 x 125 mm. Condition varies, approx. half in good condition, possibly uncirculated, the rest with varying states of wear and soiling.
