FIRST GERMAN PRINTING OF "THE UGLY DUCKLING." Translated by Julius Reuscher, the collection is the first German edition of Andersen's Nye Eventyr. Første Bind. Første Samling. Published within a year of the first Danish printing of Nye Eventyr, this edition demonstrates the rapidly spreading popularity of Andersen's fairy tales across Europe.
