This unique creation perfectly embodies our theme for the year, From Nature; For Nature, and offers a delightful camwooflage retreat for our four-legged friends.

• Taking key points from the natural world by drawing inspiration from the extraordinary camouflage techniques used by animals, such as zebras in the wilderness, to man's unusual dazzle ships of WW1, the artist explores these interesting patterns in the great outdoors.

• Awareness of Goodwoof's 2025 charity partner, Wild at Heart Foundation, and its compassionate stance to reduce the staggering statistic of 75% of the global dog population being strays, the artists title, 'Hiding in Plain Sight' alludes to this information.

• Lisa Traxler's background as a visual artist and experience in fashion and costume design led to the creation of this sculptural dog habitat. A striking visual content of platforms and caves with a nod to Frank Lloyd Wright's 1935 organic architecture of Fallingwater - itself a harmonious union of art and nature.

• This concept of 'Hiding in Plain Sight' provides a retreat for dogs to play and relax while also allowing the human team mate to join in seated on the construction in a union of friendship.

Fabrication: This innovative design is a bespoke concept from artist, Lisa Traxler. A multi-shaped flat packed piece of canine architecture constructed from poplar ply. The pieces are hand-painted by the artist on a single panel and laser cut to form the slotted shapes. The jigsaw design is such that the 13 components interlock across the single panel creating no waste. Once assembled the design appears fractured across the surface of the kennel emulating a camouflaged object in the landscape.
