Footnotes

A similar figure of an angel was purportedly created for Van Mutter's Splendid Salon Carousel in 1900. The figures are believed to have been made in the workshops of Alexander Devos. A very similar example is illustrated in Geoff Weedon and Richard Ward's book, "Fairground Art", Pub. Abbeville Press, New York, 1981; Page 146 lower right.
