Aleksandre (Avto) Mosiashvili was born in Dusheti. He continued his studies at the Tbilisi State Academy, majoring in Fine Arts, after completing his studies at Iakob Nikoladze Art School. He has been participating in exhibitions since 1969. In 1986 he received a gold prize at the International Exhibition of Artists in Tokyo. In 1990, Mosiashvili was named an Honored Artist of Georgia. The artist was given a Medal of Honor in 2018 after being nominated by the Artists Union of Georgia. His solo exhibitions were held at the Dimitri Shevardnadze National Art Gallery in 2004 and the "D-Art" Gallery in 2009. He has also taken part in group shows in Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, Bulgaria, and Russia. Avto Mosiashvili's boldly individual vision and high level of mastery were best reflected in his abstractions. His works are kept at the Shalva Amiranashvili Museum of Fine Arts, the Tretyakov Gallery, and the Museum of Oriental Art in Moscow, Russia.
