A SMALL BAMBOO 'DOUBLE GOURD' CARVING

17th/18th century
Naturalistically carved with two variedly sized double-gourds issuing from a vine bearing clusters of openwork leaves in relief, the vine curling across the surface of the fruits, the bamboo patinated to a warm brown colour, box.
