A Meissen group of the Capture of the Tritons, late 19th/early 20th century

Originally modelled by J.J. Kaendler and re-worked by E.A. Leuteritz, depicting Venus and her assistant partially dressed in draperies hauling in a fishing net containing a boy Triton and various fish, Cupid assisting with the catch, on a rockwork base with reeds, shells, a frog and a lobster, 31cm high, crossed swords mark in underglaze-blue, incised model number "C. 35", impressed numeral and painter's numeral (chipped leaves)
