A late 18th century oak cased hooded wall timepiece with alarm

John Moore, Warminster
The oak case with moulded cornice over shaped sides and concave mouldings to a plain backboard support. The 5 inch one-piece silvered brass dial with engraved floral swags and oval medallions, Roman numerals and lozenge half-hour markers with alarm setting disc to the centre, signed John Moore, Warminster. The weight driven 30-hour movement with four knopped pillars and anchor escapement, sounding the alarm on a bell. Ticking and with operational alarm. 43cms (17ins) high
