The Doctor's Dilemma is a morality play by George Bernard Shaw which was first staged in 1906. The doctor has recently developed a cure for tuberculosis and he can only take on one more patient; his dilemma is whether to save a good but poor medical student or a talented artist who also appears to be a bit of a con.
Cecil Beaton was brought on board to design the costumes for the 1958 film adaptation directed by Anthony Asquith, and starring Leslie Caron and Dirk Bogarde.
