A late George III gilt and patinated bronze 'Weeks' inkstand

Early 19th century, retailed by the Thomas Weeks Museum
Mounted with a cast gilt bronze sight hound with two seals attached to a chair around the dogs collar, and a floral hinge topped ink pot flanking a ewer on a patinated log engraved 'Weeks Museum', mounted on a white marble canted rectangular plinth base, 14.5cm wide, 8cm deep, 14cm high (5 1/2in wide, 3in deep, 5 1/2in high)

Footnotes

Thomas Weeks (1743-1834), established his Museum of Mechanical Curiosities at nos. 3 & 4 Tichborne Street, London, in circa 1797. As well as showcasing his collection of automata, clocks, temples, and other objects of curiosity the site also had a shop where inspired visitors could purchase a souvenir.
