Five English delftware large dishes, circa 1730-60

Comprising a pair with geometric foliate decoration in red, yellow, green and blue and a third polychrome dish with a squirrel perched on a whorl at the centre, two dishes painted in blue with oriental patterns featuring flowering bamboo and fences, one with a pointing Chinese figure leaning against rockwork, 33.5 - 36cm diam (5)

Footnotes

The polychrome decoration on the pair of dishes is similar to a plate in the Victoria & Albert Museum attributed to Richard Frank of Redcliff Back pottery in Bristol, see Michael Archer, Delftware (1997), B.139. The blue and white examples are likely from Liverpool, but a Bristol origin is also possible.
