An unusual pair of Italian carved and giltwood figural three light wall appliques

Probably mid 18th century
Each formed as the head and torso of a bearded classical male, their elaborate leafy headdresses supporting fluted and stiff leaf cast gilt bronze baluster urn candle nozzles nozzles above flared foliate collars, their arms holding aloft scrolling naturalistic branches with conforming nozzles and drip pans all united by laurel garlands, each figure issuing from scrolling acanthus leaves above tapering stepped fluted backplates, later fitted for electricity, 61cm high overall, 37cm wide, 12cm deep (2)
