The quarter veneered hinged adjustable ratcheted top with an adjustable reading rest and a reverse ogee moulded edge, above a slide to each end, over an arrangement of four short oak lined drawers flanking one long central dummy drawer with a conforming long oak lined drawer below, on six ring turned columnar and faceted tapering legs terminating in outswept 'Braganza' type scroll feet, with waved and shaped stretchers, the interior of one short drawer applied with the inventory (?) code: 'FF348', 92cm wide x 52cm deep x 74cm high, (36in wide x 20in deep x 29in high)

Provenance
The present lot formed part of the collection of the late Sir Joseph and Lady Barnard.
It was were housed in their residence at East Harlsey Hall, Northallerton, in North Yorkshire, which was until recent years the family residence of the Barnards.
