With punched grounds, the later bevelled plate within a shallow relief carved scrolled acanthus and scrolled stiff-leaf pattern surround, within a foliate moulded frame with shaped scrolled lower angles carved with flowerheads and projecting upper angles, flanked by oak-leaf pendants each hung from a scrolled corbel, the swan neck pediment incorporating an egg-and-dart moulded cornice , flanking a central shaped and scrolled foliate cartouche cresting addorned with two opposing c-scrolls, acanthus and bellflowers, re-gilt, 138cm high x 68cm wide.

Provenance
The present lot formed part of the collection of the late Sir Joseph and Lady Barnard.
It was housed in their residence at East Harlsey Hall, Northallerton, in North Yorkshire, which was until recent years the family residence of the Barnards.
