The first fan with vellum leaf painted to the obverse with an elaborate garden landscape with two pairs of figures within summer house interiors observing warriors and their horses in a courtyard, the reverse with a maiden beside a rusticated flowering tree peony calling to a young boy perched in a tree, the sticks decorated to the obverse with a large landscape cartouche on a dense foliate ground, the sticks to the reverse with a smaller floral basket cartouche flanked by precious object cartouches, and with ivory and tortoiseshell fillet ends and mother of pearl rivet, the second fan with paper leaf decorated to the obverse with exotic figures standing and seated within a garden with baskets of fruit and flowers and vases containing coral and precious objects, birds and insects, a watery pagoda landscape to the background, the reverse with floral sprays, the sticks with brown and gilt japanned foliate decoration, the guards sticks similarly decorated in blue and gilt, with bone fillet ends and paste rivet, The first, 28cm high, 49cm wide, the second, 25cm high, 48cm wide approximately (2)
