A rare Chinoiserie 'lac-burgauté' style folding fan, together with a Chinoiserie japanned brisé folding fan

Both French, circa 1830-40, the first with an applied printed retailers label for Alphonse Giroux, Paris
The vellum leaf painted in polychrome and with applied painted inset mother of pearl decoration to the obverse with an elaborate Chinoiserie garden landscape with two pairs of courtly ladies and gentleman with applied painted faces promenading beside pagoda temple with cut out mica lattice windows, and flanked to the right by a further female figure with applied painted face, below a leafy vine border, the sticks decorated to the obverse with a scrolling and figural pagoda landscape, the guard stick worn decoration, with mother of pearl rivet, together with a painted silk fan case and cover of tapering form with painted floral and fruiting decoration, the second fan decorated to the obverse with a landscape scene with five maidens and male figure all clad in maroon and gilt robes within dense foliate square panels and stylised flowering and leafy trees, the end sticks with gilt foliate panels, the reverse with a central barbed cartouche depicting a pagoda landscape, flanked by two smaller cartouches depicting temples, reserved on a dense geometric and foliate grounds, the ends with stylised floral vases, with mother of pearl rivet, together with a silk covered padded box with flower and fruiting vine decoration, The first 28cm high x 52cm wide, the second 27cm high x 48cm wide (2)
