Two good Continental mother of pearl and lace folding fans
Both probably Franc-Flemish, late 19th century, the first with needlepoint lace leaf in the 17th century Venetian style, probably Burano, the other with Brussels bobbin lace leaf, probably made for the American market
The lace leaf to the first worked with a wide band of formalised scrolls and flower within continuous scrolling floral borders, the shaped sticks with elaborately and finely pierced scrolling and trellis pierced ribs, the wide guardsticks similarly decorated, the lace leaf to the second worked with an intricate floral and c-scroll design with raised edges on a fine net ground within scroll and floral borders, the finely pierced mother of pearl sticks with pierced bone ribs, the guard sticks with trellis and floral pierced scrolling cartouche decoration, with yellow metal D shaped swing handle, stamped TIFFANY & CO, 14K,
