A Charles II silver lidded tankard

William Heskins, London 1668
Slightly tapering cylindrical form with applied moulded rim and moulded skirted foot, the front with armorial, a lozenge, chevron ermine between three hedgehogs passant proper, the hinged flat cover with slightly stepped platform, with scroll thumb piece, the scroll handle engraved with initials 'B*G' over 'K', terminating with a vacant cartouche, height 17.6cm, weight 31.8oz.
