Three Continental carved and gilded mother of pearl marriage fans

Probably German, second half 18th century
The first with velum leaf, decorated to the obverse with a classical oval cartouche depicting Apollo, an amorous female admirer and various putti, within an extensive landscape flanked by two roundels with fruit and birds on a dense floral ground, the reverse with a single roundel depicting two lovebirds, the well carved sticks with four circular cartouches, two depicting pairs of male and female musicians, the other two with columns, urns and baskets, above four smaller circular cartouches with musical instruments, the guard sticks with oval female portraits and classical urns, with inset paste rivet, the second with velum leaf similarly painted to the obverse with a shaped oval cartouche depicting Apollo and admirer with putti within an arcaded landscape, and flanked by two rectangular cartouches of a courting couple and two putti, on a floral garlanded ground, the obverse with a spray of flowers, the well carved sticks depicting classical figures in a chariot, flanked by dancing putti and surmounted by further floating putti, the guard sticks with classical figures and flowers, with inset moonstone rivet, the last with velum leaf decorated with an oval cartouche depicting a courting couple and other figures within a rustic background, flanked by oval cartouches of fruit within spangled borders on a floral garlanded ground, the obverse with sprays of garden flowers, the part green coloured sticks with oval cartouches of female figures and putti, with further flowers and spangled mica panels, the guard sticks with oval portraits of a lady and gentlemen, and carved with putti, birds and flowers, with inset paste rivet, the first 28cm high, 52cm wide, the second 28cm x 51cm, the third 28cm x 50cm (3)
