A collection of three carved pierced and gilded and silvered mother of pearl folding fans

Northern European, mid 18th century
Comprising one with painted velum leaf, the obverse depicting a courting couple under a bower flanked by rustic children within a pastoral river landscape flaked by floral bouquets within floral border, the reverse with a shepherdess in pink dress before a riverbank, the elaborately carved and pierced sticks with a Japanese style flowering bough holding a basket of fruit and flowers within entrelac ground, the guard sticks similarly decorated with flowers, with paste rivet, the second with painted velum leaf decorated to the obverse with a figural harbour scene with fisherman and girl within floral scrolling borders, the reverse with a rustic figure and his dog, the finely pierced sticks with central figural cartouche of Apollo and putti, within c-scroll and floral borders, the guard sticks similarly carved with figures and scrolls, with blue paste rivet, the third with painted velum leaf depicting a courting couple within a tented arbour, flanked by figures of children within extensive garden landscape flanked by flowers, the reverse with a girl and boy before a rustic out-building, the sticks finely carved and pierced, with fruit pickers and putti, within c and s scroll pierced floral borders, the guard sticks with figures and putto, the first 29cm high, 54cm wide, the second 29cm x 51cm, the third 28m x 50cm (3)
