A late 19th century French gilt brass onyx and champlevé enamel four glass mantle clock

A.D. Mougin, Paris
The case surmounted by a champlevé enamel urn surrounded by four cast finials over a moulded onyx top, the sides with observation windows supported by four champlevé decorated Corinthian topped columns, all terminating in a moulded onyx base and further raised on four brass feet, the 3.5 inch white enamel dial with Roman numerals and Arabic five minute markers the centre with a floral border, with blued steel hands and all framed by a champlevé bezel. The striking movement powered by a pair of going barrels and striking the hours and half hours on a blued steel gong, the going train with a mercury pendulum, currently ticking and striking and sold with a later winding key. 38cms (15ins) high.
