An impressive late 19th century carved white marble figural mantle clock

The circular beaded case surmounted by twin putti seated on a fruiting garland and supported by two further putti flanking a central floral bouquet on swept semi-circular base, flanked by twin grotesque mask heads with stylised leaf borders, on a foliate gilt-mounted plinth raised on rope cast toupee feet, the 7-inch painted Roman dial with outer Arabic five-minute track and pierced gilt hands set within a beaded bezel, the twin train brass movement with a horizontal platform cylinder escapement, striking on a bell mounted to the backplate, together with a modern white marble platform base, the clock 84cm (33ins) high (2)
