A German or Scandinavian third quarter 18th century pine console/side table
1750-1770, with a later pine top
The top with a reverse ogee moulded edge above an ogee moulded cornice and plain frieze, over an acanthus embellished triple c-scroll carved apron centred by a classical maiden profile bust within a roundel, on scrolled foliate, husk pendant and acanthus wrapped cabriole legs, each front leg headed by a bearded faun mask within two opposing c-scrolls, each rear leg capped with a shell, terminating in paw feet with hairy hocks, probably originally having a marble top which has been replaced by a later pine one, almost certainly previously gilt and/or painted, 122cm wide x 61.5cm deep x 77.5cm high, (48in wide x 24in deep x 30 1/2in high)
