Le Vuong (b. 1952), a graduate of the Gia Dinh National Fine Art College in Ho Chi Minh City, has exhibited internationally in Hong Kong, Japan, Singapore, and France. His exquisitely detailed and serene still life paintings are widely acclaimed. While paying homage to the European still life tradition, Le Vuong has imbued the genre with a distinctly Vietnamese sensibility by meticulously depicting local objects, such as oil lamps, porcelain, earthenware, and textiles. These range from the humble simplicity of clay teapots to the intricate richness of woven fabrics. Through a masterful interplay of light and shadow, his compositions evoke an intimate atmosphere that draws the viewer's gaze to the heart of each scene.
