Footnotes

The seals inscribed respectively with: Yan Gao (back: bird motif), □□ (back: bird motif), Rui Guang (back: tiger devouring sheep motif), and Dong Tuo (back: phoenix motif). The most distinctive feature of this group lies in each seal bearing a name in seal script carved in relief on one side and a vividly rendered figurative design on the other. All four seals are exceptionally well-preserved, featuring smooth bronze surfaces and sharply defined decorative lines. They exemplify the ancient tradition of seals bearing names that correspond to the wearer's identity while conveying auspicious meanings through the auspicious birds and beasts depicted on the reverse. These seals hold significant artistic and historical value.
