The present lot depicts a Bodhisattva by fine lines, though only partially preserved, still clearly reveals the figure's solemn and compassionate countenance along with the intricate details of its attire. The Bodhisattva's face is rounded and serene, its lowered gaze conveying boundless compassion. The flowing drapery is rendered with natural fluidity and distinct layering, showcasing exceptional casting craftsmanship.

As one of Buddhism's Four Great Bodhisattvas, Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva is renowned for his grand vow: "Until hell is empty, I shall not attain Buddhahood." Revered by devotees throughout history, his worship and imagery flourished particularly during the Song, Western Xia, and Liao dynasties, becoming a central theme in Buddhist art of the era. This statue masterfully blends the elegant lines of Han Chinese Buddhism, the robust character of Tibetan art, and the intricate expression of Western Region metalwork. It fully embodies the unique, diverse fusion of Buddhist art during the Western Xia period.
