Footnotes

This pair of fittings decorated with slightly different design, yet all employ high relief casting techniques. The primary design consists of intertwined panchi dragons portrayed with serpentine bodies, their heads and tails locked together, forming a symmetrical yet dynamic decorative pattern. The flowing lines and meticulous detailing reveal the craftsmen's exceptional casting skills.

As the counterweight at the end of a halberd's shaft, the evolution of fittings of this type reflects both the refinement of bronze casting techniques and shifts in aesthetic preferences during that period of time. Functionally, the fitting not only balanced the weight of the halberd shaft but also served as a status symbol, its exquisite decoration signifying the rank and prestige of the user.
