The A. Lange & Söhne Datograph has long been a favorite among serious watch collectors, earning a reputation as a landmark in modern horology. Its exceptional craftsmanship has been widely praised by expert watchmakers, and many consider it one of the finest serially produced wristwatches ever made. The platinum reference 405.035 was introduced at SIHH in 2012, followed by a pink gold version in 2015, which replaced the original 1999 release.
This updated version brought both technical and design enhancements while preserving the spirit of the original. The case size grew from 39mm to 41mm, and the power reserve was extended from 36 to 60 hours. Aesthetic changes included swapping Roman numerals for baton markers and adding a power reserve indicator at six o'clock, earning it the nickname "Up/Down" among enthusiasts. The sapphire case back reveals a beautifully finished manual-winding movement, considered one of the most impressive in the industry. Each bridge is uniquely hand-engraved by Lange's skilled artisans. For fans of the German watchmaker, this model represents an exciting and distinguished addition to any collection.
