Introduced in 2016, the white Rolex Daytona—nicknamed the "Panda"—quickly rose to fame and became one of the most hyped watches of the past five years. Interestingly, despite its current popularity, it initially struggled to attract buyers and was often overlooked in store displays, even by authorized Rolex dealers. Over time, however, collectors began to recognize its value. The turning point came in 2017 when Paul Newman's personal Daytona fetched a record-breaking US$17.75 million at auction, catapulting the model into the spotlight. Since then, long waiting lists and secondary market prices reaching up to four times the retail value became common for this reference at its peak, including its successor, the 126500LN. Despite newer models, the original "Panda" remains highly desirable for its more compact size, full ceramic bezel, and beautifully balanced dial design. The current example, presented in excellent condition, is a stunning representation of this legendary reference and continues to be one of Rolex's most sought-after timepieces.
