This collaborative work was gifted to Daphne Williams AC as a gesture of deep respect and gratitude for her over 20 years of dedication as Manager of Papunya Tula Artists.

Dr John Kean reflected, 'When the Pintupi returned to their Country at Walangurru, Daphne was there within a couple of weeks, supplying canvas and helping out in innumerable ways. She continued to drive those roads, commissioning masterpieces of Australian Art for more than two decades, making Papunya Tula an international success.'

Daphne's dedication was pivotal to the success of the movement and instrumental in bringing these artists' work to national and international prominence. This painting embodies not only the creative brilliance of its five artists, but also the deep trust and respect they held for Daphne. It is unique and marks a key moment in the legacy of Papunya Tula Artists and the relationships that helped shape its success.

More than just a painting, it stands as a tribute to Daphne's extraordinary contribution to the Papunya Tula movement and her decade-long commitment to supporting Western Desert artists, their culture, and the well-being of their communities.
