Footnotes

十九世紀中期 藍鍛平金平綉廣袖蟒襖

For a similar robe of the same style, with near identical placement of the Taoist symbols in Peking knots around the frontal dragon in the chest, but in red satin, see Valery M. Garrett, Chinese Clothing: An Illustrated Guide, Oxford:1994, p.99, pl.37. The red mang'ao is inscribed on the lining, "ordered 11th year of Daoguang (1832)", which makes the robe a rare example of textile where the product can be precisely dated.
