Footnotes

清十九世紀 醬色綢龍袍

In Dickinson and Wrigglesworth, Imperial Wardrobe, the authors observe that the "manuscript based on Huangchao liqi tushi appears to have given members of the imperial family the choice of either blue or brown Court robes. Brown was considered to be an off-shade of yellow." Compare with a similar chestnut or brown dragon robe, see ibid., London, 1990, p.161, pl.143.
