Reserved with two gilt-edged oval panels painted by François-Joseph Aloncle each with a scene depicting a bird in a landscape surrounded by gilt flower or husk swags, titled on the underside in black: 'Martin pecheur/de cayenne' and 'faisau dindou de/la Chine(?)', 23.8cm across, interlaced LL monogram enclosing date letter P and painter's mark N for Aloncle (very minor surface wear)

From the service made in 1768 and 1769, probably for Nikolai Konstantinovich Chotinski, Russian chargé d'affaires to France from 24 December 1767 to January 1774, and subsequently from 1780 to 1782.
