A Sèvres pink-ground stand (plateau de tasses à glace Bouret) from the service for the duc de Richelieu, dated 1758

Painted with a flower spray and a dragonfly surrounded by a pink-ground border heightened in elaborate gilding shaded in brown with scrollwork, shells and trellis panels, the rim with a further pink-ground border edged with feathered gilding, 21.7cm across, interlaced LL monogram enclosing date letter E in blue, traces of painter's mark in blue (1cm flat chip to underside of rim)

From the service acquired by Madame Duvaux for the maréchal-duc de Richelieu in the sales period 1 December 1758 to 1 January 1759

There are two plateaux Bouret listed in the records for the service, see David Peters, Sèvres Plates and Services of the 18th Century, vol. II, 2005, revised edition 2015, pp. 311-313, no. 58-2. The other plateau, also with date letter E, is in the collection of the Musée des Arts Décoratifs, Paris. Peters mentions that a plateau Bouret was sold on 5 December 1928, lot 27.

A fromager and stand from the service are in the collection of the Victoria and Albert Museum, London (see accession no. C.402-1921). A plate from the service sold in these rooms, 5 July 2018, lot 194.
