Footnotes

Probably from one of two services with similar decoration delivered in 1769: the first, to "Milord Comte D'harcout", probably Simon, 1st Earl Harcourt, British Ambassador-Extraordinary Plenipotentiary to France between 1769 and 1772; the second, to Etienne-François, duc de Choiseul-Stainville, Minister of Foreign Affairs between 1758 and 1761.
