A Sèvres bleu-lapis ground plate, dated 1761

Painted by Guillaume Noël with flowers and a butterfly, the blue ground heightened with caillouté gilding and reserved with three panels enclosing further flowers withing gilt scrollwork cartouches, 23.8cm diam., interlaced LL monogram enclosing date letter H in blue, painter's mark for Noël, incised "6u" (small restored flat rim chip, gilding worn around the edge of the rim)

The plate is either from the service delivered to the Comte Du Châtelet on 1 August 1761 (see David Peters, Sèvres Plates and Services, 2005, revised edition 2015, vol. II, pp.335f, no. 61-3) or the service delivered to Claude Bonnet on 28 November 1761 (Peters, op cit., 2015, pp. 339-340, no. 61-5).
