A similar plate in the Belvedere Collection is illustrated by Rosalind Savill, Everyday Rococo, vol. I, 2021, p. 306, fig. 10.36. The author notes (p. 310) that Mme. de Pompadour had twelve plates with a lapis border at Versailles in her 1764 inventory, and that she may have acquired them as a cash purchase in 21 October 1753, when 24 lapis plates à cordonnet were sold for 21 livres each.
