A pair of Vincennes plates (assiette à cordonnet), circa 1752

Painted in rose camaieu with a putto in a landscape, the moulded details heightened in gilding, 23.1cm across, interlaced LL monograms in blue, incised W to both, one with incised j (minor rim chips and typical wear) (2)

A similar plate in the Louvre is illustrated by Rosalind Savill, Everyday Rococo Madame de Pompadour & Sèvres Porcelain, vol. I, 2021, fig. 10.23, where the author notes (p. 296) that it is probably one of twenty-four such plates bought by Madame de Pompadour in May 1753.
