A Meissen model of a pheasant hen or Silberfasan, circa 1915

Modelled by Max Bochmann, decorated in polychrome colours, standing on a rectangular base, 24.5cm high, 40cm diam., cross swords mark in underglaze blue, incised 'A261.' and impressed '127' (some restoration to tip of one of the tailfeathers)

Max Bochmann (1874-1942) was a modeller at the Meissen factory. He studied at the Dresden School for Applied Arts. During his tenure at Meissen he created over 40 models for the factory. This model is published by Sabine and Thomas Bergmann, The art of Meissen Figures, 2010, cat.no. 672.
