Five Naples, Poulard Prad, portrait cups and saucers, circa 1815

Each cup painted with an oval bust portrait, titled in black on the base of the cup, signed 'Landolfi', within a gilt frame against different bands of gilt scrolling foliage and palmettes, gilt rims, the saucers with matching bands of gilt foliage and a floral motif in the centre, the saucers: 15.5cm diam. (approx.); the cups: 8.5-9cm high (10)

Francesco Landolfi, like Raffaele Giovine and Carlo de Simoni, opened a lucrative business decorating porcelain imported to Naples from France. Like Raffaele Giovine, he also delivered to the Court of Naples.
